Summer has arrived and Kids Alive is reminding pool owners to take a couple of minutes to check their pool gate - because it’s not just a gate, it’s a lifesaver.
New findings from the MagnaLatch® Pool Safety Report reveal a worrying decline in vigilance. Almost half of pool owners (49%) aren’t sure their gate would pass a safety inspection, and 70% haven’t checked their gate latch or hinges in the last six months. Even more concerning, 41% say they simply don’t think about gate checks, and a third admit to leaving the gate propped open while cleaning or entertaining
A pool gate is one of the most important barriers protecting young children. But if it doesn’t close, latch or stay shut properly, that lifesaving barrier disappears.
