Learn 2 Swim Week 2018
We’re back bigger and better than ever in its fourth year – Learn2Swim Week 2018 will be held throughout the country from October 2 – 9.
The goal of this important water safety initiative, which is proudly supported by Kids Alive, is to give every child under five the chance to experience learning to swim via free swimming lessons during the week-long event.
Once again, hundreds of swim schools across the country are participating (including Laurie’s schools in Queensland and New South Wales), in a bid to help reduce drowning statistics by sharing vital water safety skills that just might help save a life.
Tragically, we know that children aged 0-4 years are at the highest risk for both fatal and non-fatal drownings. The ability to swim is one of the most important factors in reducing the risk of childhood drowning, so we need to introduce more kids to water familiarisation and swimming lessons as early as possible.
Swim schools who haven’t already registered their interest in participating in Learn2Swim Week can head to www.learn2swimweek.com/register-your-pool
Bookings for children can be made after August 23. To find your nearest participating swim school, simply visit www.learn2swimweek.com and type in your postcode and contact the school directly about free lessons during Learn2Swim Week. If there are no swim schools listed in your area, make sure you give your local swim school a call and tell them about Learn2Swim Week.
