Kids Alive Do the Five is excited to announce a partnership with the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) and the Australian Public Library Alliance (APLA) to launch the Spring Safe Storytime campaign. This nationwide initiative invites libraries, early learning centres, playgroups, and swim schools to host fun and engaging water safety-themed storytime sessions for young children and their families throughout Spring 2025.
Sadly, every year, many Australian families are affected by tragic drowning incidents. This campaign presents a valuable opportunity to spread vital water safety messages while also encouraging early literacy and a love for reading.
By participating, libraries and organisations will receive a comprehensive support kit, filled with promotional tools, activity sheets, interactive storybooks, music, and professional development resources—everything you need to run a successful water safety-themed storytime event.
Register by August 15 to be part of this important movement that promotes the power of reading, community connection, and essential water safety awareness.
Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive an email with all the details on how to access the support kit. The campaign will also be supported by a national PR and social media campaign to help amplify the message.
