From September 29 to October 3, 2025, swim schools across Australia are invited to join Kids Alive Swim Into Summer - offering free swimming lessons to help families teach children vital water safety skills.
Young children, especially one-year-olds, are at the highest risk of drowning. That’s why it’s important to start learning to swim as soon as possible -even from as early as three to six months of age.
Free Online Swim Lessons
Kids Alive is providing five free online swim lessons that families can do at home. These easy-to-follow videos cover key water safety skills, including breath control, submersion, floating, water familiarisation, and propulsion.
Why It Matters
Drowning remains one of the leading causes of accidental death among young children. Many of these tragic events occur at home - in swimming pools. Learning to swim is one of the key drowning prevention methods; along with active supervision. Every child who learns to swim gains a life-saving skill.
