Kids Alive & D&D Technologies

August 25, 2014 | KIDS ALIVE

Laurie and Kids Alive have had a long and productive association with Australian design and manufacturing company D&D Technologies.ML3 & gate

The Sydney-based family company invented the MagnaLatch® Child Safety Gate Latch in the 1990s, and now exports its innovative gate latches, locks and hinges around the world. The now-iconic MagnaLatch® is found on most swimming pool gates, childcare centres and many house and garden gates across the country.

When D&D Technologies was looking for a suitable ambassador to help promote its multi-award-winning products in the late 1990s they approached Laurie, not just because of his high profile in swimming, sport and motivation, but also because of his earnest work in reducing preventable toddler drownings in backyard pools. D&D Technologies and Kids Alive share this heartfelt mission.

The synergy between Laurie and D&D could not be more obvious. Laurie, who loves the idea of supporting Aussie-grown product, let alone livesaving ones, lends his knowledge, expertise and voice to D&D’s marketing of its gate safety hardware, and D&D Technologies provides substantial support to Kids Alive and everything it stands for.
